Beware that the serial have a "wrong" (not standard) baud rate. Change it to 115200 or some of your preference to make itwork.

Would like to have been shown how to extract a float from the spiff data. Able to write a float & serial.print read data but not to produce a float that could be worked on.

Hello, great article, helped me a lot.
In the example "Retrieve information from the SPIFFS and list of files" the serial baud rate is misspelled, you wrote "Serial.begin(112500)".
